“Vista mare” wins the Giuseppe Laganà Prize at Cartoons On The Bay 2025

The short film “Vista mare” by Nicola Bartoleschi, Nicoletta Busto, and Emanuele Ricciardi is the winner of the 2025 Giuseppe Laganà Prize, named in memory of the late artist. Since 2016, the prize has honored Italian creators whose works show both artistic uniqueness and market potential.
Promoted by Cartoon Italia in collaboration with Asifa, “Vista mare” was selected from among thirteen short films by a jury composed of Annita Romanelli (head of the Animation and TV Series Production Unit at Rai Kids), Maria Carolina Terzi (president of Cartoon Italia), and Valentina Mazzola (author, screenwriter, and president of Asifa Italia).

The jury’s statement read
“With extremely effective animation, the short film presents a fierce critique of human selfishness and superficiality. It denounces the exploitation of environmental heritage and the voracious consumerism that tears, pollutes, and violates beauty with indifference and guilty neglect.”
“Cartoons On The Bay”, directed by Roberto Genovesi, is promoted by Rai and organized by Rai Com, in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region and the Municipality of Pescara.
