Privacy Policy – Newsletter subscription

The following policy is provided pursuant to article 13 of Regulation (EU) 679/2016, hereinafter referred to as “GDPR” and the applicable privacy regulations

The CARTOONS ON THE BAY Newsletter is edited and managed directly by RAI COM S.p.A., with registered office in Via Umberto Novaro 18 – 00195 Roma (RM), hereinafter referred to as “RAI COM” and contains the latest updates on the subject of: Cartoons on the Bay International Festival of Cross-Media Animation and Children’s TV, the PITCHME Pulcinella Awards contest, as well as an overview of the main events, conferences, professional programme, master classes and all the activities organised during and related to the Festival.

Object, Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

To subscribe to the mailing list enabling to receive, automatically and free of charge, the RAI COM – CARTOONS ON THE BAY Newsletter, simply select the newsletter request flag. No other data – other than the e-mail address – is required for the purposes of the service. By completing the form and selecting the flag, you authorise RAI COM to process the Data communicated, under the terms of article 4 no. 2 of the GDPR, and you expressly consent to receiving the RAI COM – CARTOONS ON THE BAY Newsletter. The data will be processed exclusively for this purpose. The legal basis for the processing is the consent of the data subject.

Data communication and transfer

The e-mail address of the data subject may be processed in the performance of the management activities of the newsletter, by RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana S.p.A. and by the companies appointed by Rai Com (e.g. e-mail sending platforms) acting as Data Processors pursuant to art. 28 of the GDPR. E-mails will be processed exclusively within the Italian territory, for the purposes indicated, and will in no way be communicated to other third parties, disseminated and/or otherwise transferred. The Data Subject’s e-mail may also be communicated to employees and collaborators of the Controller and/or the Data Processors who need it due to their duties or hierarchical position and who have been given adequate operational instructions in order to prevent the loss, destruction, unauthorised access or unauthorised processing of such data.

Method of data processing, nature of data conferment and storage period
The Data collected are processed by computerised and telematic means and will be stored, in accordance with the provisions of article 5(e) of the GDPR and the relevant regulations in force, for a period of time not exceeding that necessary to achieve the purposes for which they are processed (i.e. for the period during which the newsletter service will be active) or until the consent of the Data Subject is revoked, whichever is earlier. The Data are used exclusively within the Italian territory for the purposes indicated and will in no way be communicated to third parties, disseminated and/or in any case further transferred. Appropriate security measures are observed to prevent loss of Data, unlawful or incorrect use and unauthorised access.

The nature of the provision of Data is optional, and refusal only entails the impossibility of using the Newsletter service.

Rights of data subjects

Pursuant to articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR and the applicable privacy legislation, the Data Subject has the right, at any time, to request access to the Data and to verify its accuracy and/or to request its integration, updating, rectification, deletion, limitation, including the right to object to its processing and portability. Data Subjects also have the right to revoke consent to the processing of their Data, at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given before revocation.

In order to exercise rights or to obtain information on the Data, an express written request may be made to RAI COM S.P.A., sending a request:

Data subjects who consider that the processing of personal data relating to them carried out through the newsletter violates the provisions of the GDPR have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, (based in Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 – Rome (http://www.garanteprivacy.it), or they may take appropriate legal action.
