Bruno Bozzetto Brings “Rossi Boomer” to Pescara for Its World Premiere

Mr. Rossi returns to the screen in Rossi Boomer, a surreal and witty short film that sees the beloved character embark on a comic journey into the future, driven by his timeless quest for happiness. The world premiere will take place at Cartoons On The Bay 2025, where Studio Bozzetto’s latest work—directed by the legendary Bruno Bozzetto—will debut before a live audience.
On Saturday, May 31, Bozzetto will take the stage for a special event in his honor, part of the 29th edition of the International Festival of Animation, Transmedia, and Meta Arts.
Through this new short film, Bozzetto once again holds up a satirical mirror to contemporary society. Sixty-five years after his screen debut, Mr. Rossi is back alongside his loyal companion Gastone. Envisioning the future as a utopia free of war, taxes, and ads, Rossi instead finds himself navigating a hyperconnected, tech-saturated present.
Cartoons On The Bay, under the artistic direction of Roberto Genovesi, is promoted by Rai and produced by Rai Com, with the support of the Abruzzo Region and the City of Pescara.
