Following the success registered in the first two days, which saw over 600 Abruzzo students from primary and secondary schools fill the Palazzo dell’Emiciclo, the Cartoons on the Bay Winter Edition (promoted by Rai, produced by Rai Com in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region and the Municipality of L’Aquila, with the artistic direction of Adriano Monti Buzzetti) is drawing to a close with the mascot and cosplayer parade.
The event is scheduled for Friday, November 28 at 3 PM in the central Piazza Duomo, from which the parade will proceed to the square in front of the Palazzo dell’Emiciclo. The stars of the grand finale, alongside the children of L’Aquila, will be Lampo and Milady from 44 Cats (Rainbow), Ape Maia (Maya the Bee) and Milo (DeAPlaneta), and Lampadino and Caramella (Animundi). Joining them will be the colorful cosplayers of Buzz Lightyear, Captain Hook, Geppetto, Snape, Sailor Moon, Snow White, Wednesday, Morticia, Deadpool & Wolverine, Zoro & Rufy (One Piece), Barbie, Spiderman, McGonagall & Snape, and Mary Poppins. Final Day Events. A Mortina-themed face painting area (Cartobaleno Animation Studio) will await the children in Piazza dell’Emiciclo in a festive atmosphere. Among the events scheduled for the concluding day are masterclasses on creative professions with Carlo Tuzza, video game composer and sound designer, and with Stefano Bessoni, Italian stop-motion director and animator.
For the little ones, the meeting with Armando Traverso of Rai Radio Kids, who will talk about Rai Radio’s transmedia experience, is unmissable. Rai Pubblica Utilità (Rai Public Utility) is also present in L’Aquila, working to make some educational moments dedicated to children and teenagers accessible through Italian Sign Language.
